‘Assassin’s Creed 2′ DRM will hurt sales. Ubisoft will undoubtedly blame pirates.

The article says you can't even start the game without Internet, as you will be greeted by an error message. Making matters even worse, you are still kicked back to the main menu if the game loses connection to the "Ubisoft Master servers," which may not even be your fault.

'Assassin's Creed 2' DRM will require constant Internet connection

..and when people pirate the game to "fix" their copy, Ubisoft will undoubtedly cry foul. Have a glance at some of the comments from the above link.

geestar20 18 February 2010: Where is the benefit of buying?

Hard 18 February 2010: This is extremely laughable. All they are doing is hurting the honest paying customer. It's only a matter of time until someone figures out how to make the game playable. People who want to pirate it will get it for free, without restrictions. While the honest paying guy is forced to his inconvenient copy.

emugamer 19 February 2010: Not a company I will ever purchase from again. So long Prince of Persia.

Can't they learn a lesson that the music industry has already suffered to obtain? DRM is a flawed concept.
As I've stated before, DRM does not work.

Repeat, "Yes, You must have a constant internet connection to play a single player game." aloud a few times. Feel silly? Not Ubisoft.

In soviet entertainment, game plays you!
